Roo’s paintings are inspired by household objects which she depicts in situ, often larger than life. She loves to paint using oils – the traditional medium of reverential portraiture. Her paintings observe and appreciate our relationships with the often unnoticed familiar objects in our everyday surroundings; exploring how they can hold onto the stories of our lives, becoming links to past times.

Busy morning at the studio
swimming lunatics!
Mic and I are attempting to swim a mile in Lake Windemere (along with a few other people). It is for an excellent cause, and may just get us a bit fitter in the process. We’ve already tried our suits out in Lake Ullswater; the Hebridean Sea; Skye Fairy Pools and a river in Glencoe!
