Bathos

I recently came across the term ‘Bathos’

and think it describes the inspiration for my portraits of domestic artefacts rather well…

”BATHOS: the sudden appearance of the commonplace in otherwise elevated matter or style.”

Painting Frenzy!!

Had a bit of a painting frenzy yesterday, starting several new paintings at once (as I am want to do…)

It was a nice contrast to sitting in the gallery over the weekend contemplating my paintings and chatting with all the lovely visitors to my exhibition.

Headphones on; paintbrush in hand; stepping back from the canvas every so often for a quick groove-around-the-studio when the music carries me off…..
