‘Winnie’ was painted to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of ‘Winnie The Pooh’, the much loved book by A A Milne. Here the first edition sits on a shelf alongside ‘When We were very Young; Now We Are Six and The House at Pooh Corner, accompanied by a selection of the many other Winnie related publications from over the last century. In the background is an approximation of part of E H Shepherd’s map of the hundred Acre Wood.
